a bit more about
My story
After working in agency-based social work settings (school board, hospital crisis program) for over 16 years, I was searching for a more creative approach to helping others.
Baking, creating art, and being in nature were personal ways I find balance and better mood. In 2020, I was happily surprised to discover evidence-based intervention strategies to integrate these activities with psychotherapy work. Being able to create change with clients, while practicing and using creative activities, is a dream come true.
My goal is to provide an approachable, practical and down-to-earth environment for clients to begin making change in their lives. That is why we strive to make our studio & office feel more like a warm, welcoming coffee shop, versus a sterile feeling clinic.
I take pride in helping clients use creative pathways to feel more calm- with unique approaches that allow clients to practice in session, then hopefully integrate into their lives outside of sessions- (that's where the baking and nature walks come in!).
My hope is that our work together allows clients to feel worthy, more confident, and self-fulfilled, to build better emotion regulation skills, heal past harm, and create more connected relationships with others.

I believe people are the expert of their own lives, value all people regardless of income, age, race, culture, religion, orientation or beliefs- and that my job is simply to bring my experience and training to the table in a real, authentic way. I am honoured to join clients on their journey to making change in their lives.

a bit more about
My story
For over 20 years, I have had the pleasure of supporting children, youth and their families in a variety of settings; through the school board, through coordinating Ministry funded resources for an agency, as well as supporting individuals in a hospital crisis program.
After years of dealing with the goals and demands of government institutions along with its policies and bureaucracies, I am excited to move away from these institutions and support you in the way you wish!

I am known to provide a safe, judgment-free, empathetic environment for those wishing to connect for help. I want you to feel safe and comfortable with me and know that nothing you share will be too much.
I believe you are the expert in your own life and I would be honoured to help empower and support you as you make life changing decisions or just lend a supportive, listening ear.

I connect with clients in a compassionate, empathetic, and relaxed manner who are
experiencing overwhelming feelings of stress and anxiety. I believe in starting our conversation where you are in your life and exploring this with you through strengths based, solution focused counselling and support.
With over 20 years of professional practice, my experience working through life transitions, family crisis, work related stress, coping with personal and family health conditions, end of life, expected and anticipated loss, grief, and bereavement, as well as day to day overwhelm are areas we can explore together.

a bit more about
My story
Having spent my extensive career in both community and hospital based settings throughout Hamilton and Halton, I bring a natural experience of providing support and counselling to adults who are overwhelmed with the stress of life.
My experience includes acute and community healthcare, grief and bereavement, geriatrics, domestic violence, and the Canadian and Provincial social service systems.
When we reach adulthood we are not well prepared for managing the overwhelming feelings that come with raising families, employment, aging parents and grandparents, grown children, health, finances, retirement and any unexpected crisis and loss that may emerge along the way. Sometimes these overpowering feelings can become so large that we need to reach out and find support from someone like myself that can help you find strength, solutions, and calm in an environment that is peaceful and relaxed.
More importantly, a space where you can feel heard and supported while organizing the large feelings that you may be struggling with. I believe that people have the ability to enjoy their lives and appreciate all that they have, but I also know that it can become completely overwhelming over time and it can also become unmanageable in the blink of an eye. Sometimes, it can be just one
more issue that breaks us. My goal is to help you move along this journey by listening to you, respecting your story, and working toward your goals. I appreciate you, your strength, and your courage for starting here.
